Marc took this extremely cool picture of our Christmas tree. Do you see how the lights look like little hearts? That's because he cut out a heart shape from a piece of paper and held the paper with the hole over the lens of his camera. If you can get a person to sit still in front of the tree it will look like little hearts all around him or her. Here is the link on how to do it yourself from Photojojo. If you like to use your digital camera, you must subscribe to this site's newsletter. If you teach, don't use this site in front of kids without double checking it, the occasional swear word slips in.
Note #1- Marc told me I have the picture turned the wrong direction. The top of the tree is 90° to the right. He turned the camera to take the picture and forgot to turn the cutout.
Note #2- You need a camera with manual focus AND you can't use LED lights on the tree.

That is really cool! I'm a dork and totally tried it with my camera but I have a point and shoot and it doesn't work. I ended up with a picture of our Christmas tree with a hear-shaped border. I should have realized it wouldn't work. It's really cool though!
