Oh, Christmas Tree

Today, after we slept in until, oh 8:30, we took a road trip to Richardson's Tree Farm in Spring Grove (hi Lauren!). This was our 4th visit to the tree farm with Maddy, if you count the year I was pregnant. We always have the best time getting a tree. You ride a tractor with a flatbed trailer out to the middle of the farm, walk around to find your tree, cut it down, then hop back on a tractor to ride back to the barns.

We always like to take a picture in front of the tree we have chosen.

Does she look a little tired as she waits for the tree to be cut down?

Maddy asked if she could take a picture of me.

She takes a much better picture if I am at her level. Now I know what she sees all day.

Here is the best part of the whole adventure for Maddy.
Hot, fresh doughnuts, with chocolate.

As Martha says, it's a good thing.

I had the most awesome day with you and Maddy. Getting the tree was as fun as always and Maddy is so excited about Christmas things this year, that it makes it more fun than it's ever been. I love you. You're wonderful.

I have always thought it would be cool to cut down our own tree. I'm allergic though...so we just have a fake tree. Bleh. Someday we'll have a real tree. Can I just go for the donuts? Jordan is obsessed with cookies now. I made some yesterday because my parents, uncle, and grandma came over and Jordan was sooooo upset when I took the plate away. It wasn't good.

We'll have to get our tree out this week. I'm excited to see Jordan be excited by it. It makes it so much more fun to see everything through their eyes.

BTW, I love your new background! It's getting me in the spirit!!!

I'm so jealous. You would think out here in Utah you would be able to cut your own tree down, NO WAY. There's nothing like that out here. Sometimes it surprises me how much I miss Illinois!

Love the pictures. You guys are such a cute family.

PS Can I tell you how sweet and thoughtful your husband is? I just realized the first comment was from him. What a keeper. You guys are perfect for each other.
