Don't you want to know?
Maddy and I wanted to know.
We tried it.
It bounced and rolled!
We tried it again, and again, and again, until it finally smashed into pieces.
We wondered what would happen with smaller pumpkins. We tried those, too. They bounced and rolled, too, that surprised us. What happens when you stomp on a pumpkin? It's hard to do, they're slippery little suckers. If you can get your foot to land a good blow without sliding off, you can smash the pumpkin, but you have to work at it.
What was the most surprising part of our experiment? It didn't make nearly as big a mess as we expected. It was mostly seeds splattered everywhere.
We scooped up the whole splat zone and added it to the compost pile.
Maybe we will get pumpkin sprouts in the spring.

Very cool. I think that might actually relieve some of my stress...maybe if I take a sledgehammer to our giant pumpkin. I'll imagine it for now...but that would be fun.
