Thunderstorm

There is a good old thunderstorm passing over right now, which reminds me that growing up in the Northwest we didn't have many window-rattling thunderstorms. We had window rattling airplanes because we lived a few miles from an Air Force base and I'm pretty sure those gigantic cargo planes would make their turn over our house. I remember visiting my grandparents in Cleveland one year and a thunderstorm going over us felt it was going to shake apart the house like the wolf was blowing it down. Midwest thunderstorms sure can be lively!

This picture has absolutely nothing to do with thunderstorms, other than the fact that sometimes she is a little thunderstorm. Today she whacked me across the face so hard it stung. That action was good for a nice long time-out and MANY discussions about it all day long from both me and Marc about how it's not ok to hit. She was very, very sorry, and was most angelic the rest of the day.

I keep telling myself we want her to make mistakes now so she can learn from them, with our guidance. Mistakes are good, they are our friend, they teach us what not to do. Repeat. Ouch.

No way did that sweet little princess of a girl smack you. It's hard to believe because she's so cute, but you're right, learn now.

When I saw the title Thunderstorm, it made me think of the Stephen Kellogg book/tall tale about Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind. Kids can be like that sometimes!!! I agree, it's good to think positively and that if it happens then we can correct it...and especially now that she is young.

I had a crazy/fun weekend with Jordan. I am really loving this age where he can sit and be busy with things and talk about things. It's great.

P.S. I love Maddy's pigtail!
