My friend Jen and I (hi Jen!) went to the Anderson's Bookshop Author Breakfast today, we had so much fun! It's not the kind of event I want to attend alone, so when Jen mentioned she would like to go I jumped at the chance. One of her favorite authors, Meg Cabot, of the Princess Diaries fame, was a featured speaker and Jen really wanted to hear her. We heard Meg, Steven Kellogg, Sharon Draper and Peter Yarrow, of Peter, Paul and Mary. He has a picture book out about Puff, the Magic Dragon. We had our pictures taken with Meg in our princess tiaras. Ok, yeah, we were the only people who did that, but who cares? We had fun!
It was a crazy morning, Jen and I met around 7 AM with about 6 inches of new snow on the ground, and she was feeling kind of yucky, which just made it that much more of an adventure. I love a good adventure!
I am pretty sure Peter was a little extra friendly with Jen. His hug was a little closer and a little smoochier than mine. :-)
And, I am pretty sure this is a horrible picture of me, but that's what happens when I get up at 5 AM on a snowy Saturday morning. Oh well, I really don't look that bad in person, I hope.
We ended the day with a room full of crazy librarians and teachers clutching their prized autographed books, wearing their sensible shoes and singing their heads off to Puff the Magic Dragon. How stinkin' cool is that?

Even though I was feeling yucky I had so much fun! It was a really nice event. The best part was that we got to chat with the authors because we were sitting at the perfect table! I wish I could have chowed down more on breakfast and candy...oh, well.
BTW, I left my bags in your car! I'll have to get them from you on Monday. Can't wait for Monday Mall Day!
