Tiny Bubbles

I am having an amazing fantasy about lounging on the beach in Hawaii. It's 80°, the sun is shining, not a cloud in the sky. Please don't wake me. I dug through my iPhoto pics to remind me of the glory that is our 50th state. Can I move there please? We would only be able to get a studio apartment far, far from the beach, but we would be so happy. Maddy can go to school there, she could learn to surf and become a vulcanologist (I have always wanted to use that word in a real sentence). This is one of the cool things I have in common with our soon to be President. I could post my Hawaiian birth certificate, but you'll all think it's fake. ;-) Instead I have a picture to share, taken in front of the street sign where we lived in Pearl City when I was brought home from the hospital. My parents never went back after we left, but I did. This was my first trip back, it was in 2004.

This is a picture of me on a black sand beach on the Big Island. It's a secret location we found on a web site. You have to crawl through some bushes, climb down a rocky ledge and jump down to get to the beach. It's worth it. I am there right now- in my mind. No snow, no below zero temp, just warm, warm sand and lots of ocean.

Chad is frustrated with me because I am seriously weeping at the computer. I started looking at your pictures and just imagining how nice it would be to be in warm weather, be able to go outside, oh, and to be off for the summer! When are they going to perfect teleportation? That or, the magic button you can press that will stop time so I could take a nice vacation to Hawaii...hang out, get some reading done, come back, get some housework done, hang out with Jordan, get caught up on school stuff...and then push the button again for time to start up again. I like to pretend there's a cute little scientist in a white lab coat with Edward Cullen-like hair and round glasses in a random secret laboratory in some corner of the world working on teleportation and the magic-stop-time-button just for me.

I have been dreaming of Hawaii too. Dwight will be going there early in February for a week long mission. He will be there during the Pro Bowl and he doesn't even like football so won't bother to attend. But he'll enjoy the nice weather and beautiful scenery from his hotel room balcony. And once again he'll come home and say, "It was beautiful, we really need to go back." Well, duh.
