Maddy-ism

On Saturday morning Maddy was treated to a few episodes of Ni Hao Kai-Lan. It's a cute cartoon with a Chinese girl. She teaches a few words in Chinese during her adventures. Ok, I haven't really watched it enough to know what it's about, but that's what I think it's about. Maddy watches it when I'm in the shower or trying to put laundry away, make beds, etc.  I collect a few on the Tivo and then let 'em rip.

So here's the Maddy-ism part:

Marc, Maddy and I were walking around Costco picking up a few things and Maddy was greeting every Asian-American person with, "Ni hao."  It's Chinese for hello.

Yeah. Not sure if I should be embarrassed or impressed. Both, I think.

Ha ha. I'm not sure this is a good thing or not either but it sure is funny and clever!

That's awesome...I think...definitely a teach-able moment. I think it's good that she's thinking about other people but tricky because not everyone who looks Asian will know Chinese. Super sweet though.
