I did the Australian Detox plan, you can find it here.
I did it for one full week, 7 days. I found that committing myself 100% for one week was something I could do, and I think I will do it again before the end of the year.
Water was my only beverage the entire week (and pretty much still is 90% of the time).
I used a lot of their food ideas, such as the salads.
I ate a lot of oatmeal, eggs, guacamole, salsa, and hummus with veggies. I indulged in these because I love them and they helped me feel like I wasn't over-sacrificing, causing me to possibly give up.
I didn't worry about fat (mostly from olive oil), or carbs or calories. I counted nothing and kept track of nothing, which was important for me. I just followed the plan.
The painful part was getting over the cravings for Coke. Sometimes I still crave a Coke, but when I give in and have a little it is NOT satisfying. The other things hard to give up were cheese (orange cheese), pizza and pasta. Those two are still on my very limited list since I know they are big time triggers for eating way too much.
After the end of the week I added back in chicken breast, a little bread here and there, Grape Nuts, feta cheese, greek yogurt, things like that.
After a month I allowed us (Marc did it too) one big meal of our choice, and now we will have an occasional splurge but try to stick to the fruit/veggies/beans/nuts as much as possible.

I have been wanting to diet for a while now. This sounds like something I'd like to try. You've inspired me. Like you, I have terrible cravings for Coke.
Very cool. I think I've told you about the Fat Smash diet, that's what I have done before. I like that they give you foods to eat, and you can kind of eat those as much as you want (within reason). That helps I think...I can do anything for a week. :)
