What I didn't realize when I purchased them and only just found out tonight while scanning them, is that they are all given to the same person, Miss Marks. These are valentines for the teacher, and she kept them. How sweet is that? Miss Marks is probably gone now, but it makes me wonder who she was, where she taught, was she right out of college? What is her story?

Very sweet.
Miss Marks as a young teacher who was an only child. Her parents were killed in a tragic car accident when she was in college. With her inheritance, she finished school, bought herself a quaint house in Wisconsin where she taught until she retired. Having lost her family, her students were her life and she cherished them and their tokens of appreciation. She would never dream of throwing out even a simple Valentine given to her by one of her students. When she died of old age, her funeral was attended by the many students whose lives she touched in her long career and stories were told of her genuine, sweet demeanor and her kind heart.
That was really good! That reminds me of the picture book My Great Aunt Arizona by Gloria Houston.
