One tradition we have established in our house is going to a tree farm to cut down our tree. We love everything about it: the long drive, listening to Christmas music on the way, riding on a flatbed trailer pulled by a tractor to find a tree, taking a picture with our tree, cutting it down, riding the tractor back, then getting fresh HOT doughnuts while the tree is shaken and wrapped. Of course once we get it home we spend the afternoon pulling out decorations and trimming the tree. It is always a sentimental time because we unwrap ornaments from family members who are gone and think of them. We also pull out ornaments from old friends and students and things Maddy has made each year.
Good times.

What a fun thing to do! I love it! The HOT donuts sound delicious. We are lame, we totally have the fake tree.
So Maddy use to cry on Santa's lap huh? So funny.
