Our Week

This was a tough week for us. Marc had a loss in his extended, out-of-town family and he traveled with his mom and without us for a few days. I knew we would be fine as long as we didn't have a crisis of our own. Day one, fine, day two, fine, day three I noticed Maddy had a little crust on her eye when I dropped her off in the morning. I turned around and signed her right back out, called my school's secretary from my car to tell her I needed a sub in 40 minutes, took Maddy with me to school, made her sit in my chair while I put sticky notes on everything a sub would need, then took her from school to the doctor where she was indeed diagnosed with pink eye and a mild fever. I then took the prescription for eye-drops to Walgreens, rented the new Tinkerbell movie and Christmas Carol movie from the Redbox in front of Walgreens, drove through McDonalds for an english muffin since it was now after 9 and Maddy has had nothing to eat yet because she eats breakfast at daycare, drove back to Walgreens to pick up the prescription, then home for movies. At 6:00 I took Maddy with me to a meeting about kindergarten registration in the spring, even though this broke the 24 hour fever rule. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Marc made it home late Wednesday night and I think we were equally emotionally exhausted. Maddy's pink eye is fine, you would never know she was sick and all is well in our house once again.

No fun. So sorry you guys have been through the ringer! Sounds like you are doing better though and survived the pink eye!
