Here are some random thoughts:
Marc and I have officially become Gleeks. We love Glee. We dropped our cable completely this summer. We now have an antenna, Netflix (streaming and by mail), iTunes and Redbox to fulfill our viewing needs. We ordered Glee through Netflix (mail) and really enjoyed it. We are now caught up and watching the episodes as they air- on our free over-the-air antenna.
If you think the no cable idea might be the way to go- just consider how much you watch sports. We don't watch a lot of sports, so we don't care, but games are pretty much all on cable.
We have just 3 weeks of school until Thanksgiving- whoohoo!!
I have a new washer and dryer. WHOOHOO!!!! It is a gift to myself. Our old set worked, but it was older and came with the house. I wanted one with new-fangled fancy features because I don't like to do laundry. Now I can time delay my wash to start whenever I choose. Excellent. I can put clothes in at 10 PM, set it to run at 5 AM and have clothes ready to go in the dryer when I wake up- which I can do. Otherwise the clothes sat in the washer all night and any clothes that sat more than 3 hours started to get funky.
Maddy is really doing very well in her all day pre-school/daycare situation. She comes home singing all sorts of fun songs and she is starting to read sight words. It's so cool. She is giving me long, long hugs when I drop her off in the morning, but she is never upset. Phew. Big Phew.
Marc had his 2nd car show at New Trier. It was a great success, but we can't figure out how to get more students to show up. I think they have almost more cars than kids. Hmmm... if you have any great ideas let me know.
In the summer of 2012 I want to spend 3 weeks driving to the west coast and just driving around visiting whatever we want to see. I am so not camping- hotels for me. In my former Girl Scout life I camped a lot, but I want a controlled environment when I sleep, and a hot shower, and blow dryer.
I will share Halloween pictures in my next post, but I wanted to include a picture, so this is the Garneau family going to see The Lion King on Saturday. Maddy had a blast. We went to the Disney store a few blocks from the theater and bought her Nala and Simba dolls. After the show she had her picture taken with the young Nala and Simba actors (with her dolls). Maddy was thrilled. She loved the show and sat with rapt attention the entire time.

Your blog readers have missed you! I'm so glad you are back.
Your washer sounds amazing. So deserved.
Summer 2012 when you spend three weeks driving to the west coast will you please make Salt Lake City one of your stops? I promise you won't be disappointed. Not only would you get to meet my Charlotte but Salt Lake is such a beautiful place. Think about it. You would have a place to stay for FREE and I promise you it would have a nice hot shower, blow dryer, and a warm bed.
