1. It will use be sewn into the slippery fabric.
2. I have to iron the seam allowance first, and this fabric doesn't like to iron.
3. It has to actually zip AND fit when I'm done.
4. The slippery fabric doesn't like to have seams ripped out.
Here are the things left to do:
1. Zipper.
2. Lace around sleeve ruffle.
3. Bows on lace around sleeve ruffle.
4. Hem around botton.
5. Hope it actually fits.
Things I have done wrong/caused me grief:
1. Cut the skirt on the wrong direction of the fabric. (The gold part underneath, but no one can tell.)
2. A little trouble with the darts. Ripped them out and did over.
3. A lot of trouble with the lace around neck. I could have left this off just fine, and would have had I known I would rip it off 3 times. I'm still not entirely satisifed, the corners are puckering the lace. I could have used better instructions on how to ease the lace around the corners. That was the entire instruction- ease lace around corners.

Wow! It looks great to me! I'm totally impressed. I totally know how you feel about all the hard parts and ripping stuff out. You should be proud of yourself for persevering!!!!! Maddy will love it! I did a zipper when I was in college on a cheerleading-costume skirt and it wasn't bad at all...except it wasn't slippery fabric. Jordan's Diego vest has a zipper, too...I'm sure I"ll be blogging about that!!! :) Good luck!!
It looks so fantastic! I'm so impressed with your sewing skills! I don't even dare try a zipper with my sewing stuff yet. Yikes.
You are amazing!
