I have been in a bit of a funk. Today we had the house cleaned and I kid you not the last time it was clean was for Maddy's birthday around the end of March. I have been in a bit of a funk.
In the last 7 weeks I feel like I have lived an entire 7 months. I just felt like I had so much to do and everything was piling up and I couldn't stay afloat. So the blog, and the house duties, suffered. I am slowly catching up, getting a good scrubbing today from the house cleaners helped. It's the best $94.00 I can spend on myself. I do it only once or twice a year and I usually need it more than the house does.
There are only a few weeks left of school, I am starting to feel the urge to purge. I am already cleaning up my classroom and putting things away/recycling as much as I can every day. The closets around here are next. I think I get the winter blues in March and with the cold and rainy spring we have had I couldn't seem to shake them off- the plus the feeling of constantly being overwhelmed with laundry, groceries, piles and piles of papers from every part of my life, my National Board Certification renewal (done), a quick trip to Florida to see the (failed) Space Shuttle launch, gadzooks it was all too much.
On top of that the three of us kept rotating through the minefield of germs. One up, two down; two up, one down. That has been very stressful.
I am better now. I think the quick trip to Florida really helped. I might have to remember that next year. Spring break is too early, something at the end of April is perfect.
The end of the school year is in sight, I will have time to reset myself.

Ahhhh I miss your blog. It's so good to read a little update on you guys. Sorry the Space Shuttle was a bit of a bust, but it sounds like the rest of your trip was just what you needed. It still feels like winter and it's killing me! I think a trip to Florida is what everyone needs end of April/beginning of May.
So what are the plans for next year? Will you be teaching second grade again?
