One Day At A Time

I have been feeling a little down lately. The earthquake in Haiti is so awful and it makes everything I want to write about on my blog seem so insignificant. I read about a 5 month old baby pulled from the rubble and they have no idea who this baby is. Where are his parents? Grandparents? They have no way to connect the baby to anyone. How sad is that? No more TV news for me.

On Monday I set to work on this little gem. I finished her Tuesday night while Maddy was feeling a little sick.

I love the hair. It's fleece cut into strips with colored yarn added. You pull on the skinny fleece strips and they curl up. Pretty cool.

The pattern and directions were very easy to follow and came from this book I found in the new books at the library. It really says Fleecie dolls. The F is covered by the 14 Day sticker. I think I'll make a few to keep around as presents for any little girl birthdays we are invited to this spring.  I'm pretty sure I'll have to try the green alien doll on the cover next.

Those are cute!!!!!!! (I mean the book.) I love the mermaid, too! Very cute! I just picked up Itty Bitty Toys by Susan B. Anderson. It's all knit toys. Not sure I'm skilled enough but I'm looking for something at least a little more advanced than what I have done before. We'll see!!! :)

That book looks awesome! You did a great job on the mermaid. You'll have to post the alien as soon as you make it.

The whole Haiti situation is horrible. Thinking about what has happened to them really puts things into perspective.
